Custom Enclosure Design
Want a fancy build but aren’t the crafty type, or are lacking the supplies or time to make one yourself? Lucky for you, I love making tanks, especially when I don’t also have to find room in the house to set them up! From simple to elaborate, jungle to desert, we can find the perfect little home and setup for your reptilian friend.
What’s the Process?
A ‘custom’ build really should be fully customizable! To get us started, please fill out this form to get us on the right track. If you don’t know the answers to all of the questions, that’s perfectly fine! This is why there’s a consultation link below.
To fully flesh out your new enclosure and start going over availability and timelines, once you’ve filled out your form, please book the ‘Custom Enclosure Consultation’ service in the below section. Monica will be in touch to schedule your appointment and we can start planning your project.
Please note: at this time, finished enclosures are not able to be shipped. By proceeding, you agree either that you are a local customer, or are willing to drive to Divergent Exotics or any show we’re vending at to pick up the finished enclosure. Delivery may be discussed within a four-hour radius of Portsmouth, VA for an additional fee, but you will need to be able to remove and place the enclosure on your own. This would be for driving service only and DE staff will not be entering anyone’s home for safety reasons.
What should you have prepared for the consultation? I’m glad you asked! Look around on the internet for tanks you love. Have a love/hate comment for everything on your mood board. Also be sure to have any of your specific animal’s needs and requirements handy. A visually challenged herp likely shouldn’t have a ton of climbable features in the enclosure and so on. A critter that loves to climb and tunnel might want some unique features added to their home.
Also be prepared for seemingly random questions. Are you okay if your pet eats the plants and you can replace them periodically on your own for maintenance? Is your pet a plant nibbler despite that not being the norm for their species? Do they need surfaces to help file down their nails?
Come with an open mind, possibly a notebook for either taking notes or of questions you have along the way, and mood boards or sample photos are a huge plus.
